Way cleared for Miss India Worldwide pageant in Durbs

07th March 2010

The Miss India Worldwide pageant is back on track and will go ahead on March 27.

The pageant faced uncertainty last week after contractual obligations were allegedly not met. However, the chairman and founder of the pageant, Dharmatma Saran, this week confirmed that plans were in place to host the event at Durban's ICC arena.

"There was some confusion between our group (the worldwide group in New York) and the Durban group. The matter has since been resolved. Everything is on track, and the pageant will go ahead on March 27," said Saran.

Contestants from over 30 countries will take part in the event.

Celebrities such as Bollywood actor Anuuj and Durban actress Tarina Patel, who has made a name for herself in both Bollywood and Hollywood, will be among the guests, said Farook Khan of the local organizing committee.
